D’Costa emphasizes that it’s important to avoid names that are part of regular usage grammar sounds as this can cause confusion for the dog. It seems like people can get quite creative when it comes to naming their furry friends, and the examples given by Ashley from AJs restaurant show just that. From a dog named “Tola” after its owner’s hobby of smoking up to a pup named “Poder” because of its love for bread, the names are as unique as their personalities. Even more amusing is the family in Nagpur who decided to name their dogs “I don’t know” and “Ask him” just to see the confusion it caused. At the end of the day, the name you choose for your pet is a reflection of their personality and your bond with them, so don’t be afraid to get creative and have fun with it.

RAKHI PURI, animal rescuer from north goa, suggests these names THAINGA (MEANING COCONUT IN TAMIL) MASTANA KOONI(MEANING BIG EYES GIRL IN ORIYA) PAY-TOO(bottomless pit for a stomach) 4G- named after the broadband network

Conclusion - my journey of naming my beloved pup

“When I first got my puppy, Wynter, a golden retriever, I was so excited to bring her home, but I couldn’t decide on a name that felt just right. I considered a few popular options, like Goldy or Fluffy, but they just didn’t seem to fit her personality.

Wynter - The Golden Retriever

Finally, I decided to name her Wynter, which reflected her bright and joyful spirit. Wynter was always up for a game of fetch or a long walk, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel happy and loved.
Sadly, Wynter passed away several years ago, but her memory lives on in many ways. My family and I have named our businesses after her, as a way of honoring the joy and love she brought into our lives.

Whenever I see our businesses’ names or think about Wynter, I am reminded of the special bond we shared. Even though she’s no longer with us, her spirit lives on and continues to inspire us every day. I will always be grateful for the time I spent with Wynter and the many happy memories we shared together.”

I’m a proud parent of ‘Gabbar’, the most un-intimidating pup, unlike the character from Sholay that he is named after. 😊😊😊

Well written and excellent platform to look out for pet names….

Amazing info !

Nicely written! We had a dog named Regan when we were small. He was a very loyal and loving streetie. Guess the same got derived from Ronald Reagan. Miss you buddy 💔
